The frontier speaks. Policy, advocacy, and a national platform for the communities the conversation forgets.

Independent of government and academia. Credible to both. Someone has to say what agencies can't and universities won't.

The Frontier Desk is NPHI's voice: policy analysis, non-partisan advocacy, and honest reporting from the terrain where American health systems run thinnest. We take a leadership role in the practice of public health and policy development in Nevada — and we carry the rural and frontier case to national rooms where it too often goes unargued.

Our commitments are the institute's values in public: trust, non-partisanship, consistency. We argue from evidence, we name what the data shows, and we represent communities as protagonists — never as deficits with zip codes.

Policy has a destination

Policy is never abstract. It lands in families, identities, schools, workplaces, clinics, and communities.

The Frontier Desk starts with that reality: represent people with dignity, argue from evidence, and make visible the consequences of decisions that can otherwise look distant on paper.

NPHI and the Nevada Public Health Training Center join the American College of Preventive Medicine in mourning the first recorded measles deaths in Pennsylvania in 35 years — and call for access that reaches every Nevada family.
